Solving Your Pet’s Health Problem With Diagnostics

If your pet hasn’t been acting like themselves and their routine exam yielded nothing unusual, we may need to utilize our diagnostic equipment to identify the problem. This allows us to examine your pet’s internal body structure, so we can target the cause of their symptoms and treat it. Diagnostics offer a non-invasive, painless method for seeing what’s going on inside your pet, and can help us spot issues that may otherwise go undetected.

Our Pet Diagnostics Services

There are several different ways our veterinarians can see what’s happening with your pet’s internal systems. Following a thorough examination, our veterinary team can perform:

  • Full body X-rays
  • Urine testing
  • Fecal testing
  • Blood testing
  • Cultures
  • Video Otoscope

For routine diagnostics, we use our in-house laboratory, which can produce results in as little as 20 minutes. For more complex cases, we send samples out to the Marshfield Clinic Veterinary Reference Laboratory for their pathologists to review more extensively. Results typically take about 24 hours.

Signs Your Pet May Need Diagnostic Testing

If your pet hasn’t been acting like themselves, they may be exhibiting certain symptoms that will require more in-depth investigation. Diagnostics testing is a key component in all pet care.  Common symptoms include:

  • Diarrhea/chronic loose stool
  • Vomiting/poor appetite
  • Lethargy
  • Limping
  • Shaking/trembling
  • Disorientation/tilting of the head

Using diagnostics, our veterinarians can discover the presence of parasites, neurological issues, tumors, and fractures, to name a few. It’s our mission to keep your pet as healthy as possible, and we will do whatever we can to make an accurate diagnosis. Once we’ve discovered the problem, we can proceed to build a treatment plan for your animal companion that will get them back on the road to wellness.
